Traveler has always been a welcome guest in our villages, always offered refreshment and a feast, even in times when people were very poor. Hospitality of these rural families is absolute.

At the katuns – it is even more pronounced. Unknown people will greet you warmly, offer you with a glass of brandy and talk intimately to you, even though they don’t know you, nor do they speak your language. Don’t be surprised, it has always been unkind to meet a man and not greet him in our country.

And, up on the mountain, where huts are far away and the trails slowly disappear since less and less people go there, a traveler is some kind of a gift. He warms the mountain, softens the wilderness, brings in a story, and there are never enough stories under the clear sky and stars. Guests also mean happiness for the children in katuns. A theatre, of a sort.
